Remember the Rugrats, the quartet of mischievous infants who spent time having adventures and playing with Reptar the Dinosaur? Remember Scooby-Doo, the Great Dane who solved mysteries, had a big appetite, and loved eating Scooby Snacks?
Almost every student has watched these cartoons at some point or another. In fact, many high-schoolers still do watch these shows.
Of the hundreds of cartoons on the air, Family Guy was selected as most popular among high schoolers. Family Guy tells of a disorganized, animated family that resides in fictional Quahog, Rhode Island. This family of six includes Peter, a typical American father, but quite unintelligent and obese, Lois, the intelligent stay-at-home mom that teaches piano lessons, their three kids: Meg, Chris, and Stewie; and the family dog, Brian.
Spongebob Squarepants has remained a popular children’s cartoon on Nickelodeon. This cartoon stars Spongebob, a square yellow sponge who works at the Krusty Krab and gets into mischief daily, many times with his friend, Patrick, a lazy, illiterate pink starfish living under a rock. Other characters on the show include Squidward, Spongebob’s easily annoyed neighbor, Mr. Krabs, owner of the Krusty Krab, Plankton, rival to Mr. Krabs, and Sandy, a squirrel who loves doing the extreme.
Another commonly watched show is Phineas and Ferb. This cartoon, currently airing on Disney Channel, tells of two stepbrothers, Phineas and Ferb, who have awesome adventures in their own backyard.

The top 5 animated shows at Ripley High School include Family Guy, with 26%, Phineas and Ferb, with 7%, South Park, with 5%, Robot Chicken, with 5%, and Spongebob Squarepants, with 4%. Others mentioned were Tom and Jerry, Bleach, The Boondocks, Anti-Monday, Fairly Oddparents, G-Teen, and Naruto, among others.
