Grasping a Silver Award at the Mid-South Scholastic Art Competition this year was RHS’s Robert Saldona. Saldona won his Silver for his oil pastel of “The Faulkner Creation.” Other art students awarded an Honorable Mention for their works were Derrick Johnson for his watercolor painting of “Faulkner’s Office,” Austin Kitchen for his drawing of “Deep Thought,” and Will Wallis for his acrylic painting of “William Whiskers.” Art instructor Jo Cousar states, “I am extremely proud of my art students and their accomplishments this year. I am very pleased with the results of the Mid-South Scholastic Art Awards. These students completed with high school students from Tennessee and Arkansas as well as North Mississippi. They should be extremely proud of their work as I am.” |
